Now on to the post.
I love the beauty headshot. The ultra clean look on the lighting and the model are just wonderful.
While in Ohio, I worked with Grace Langshaw to do this look with two speed lights.
Gear:
Key: SB800, Westcott Rapid Box
Fill: Westcott Eye Lighter
Back: SB800, Westcott 43″ Orb
Settings: Put both lights in Manual mode set to 1/4 power.
The key to this look is setting your lights at about 45 degrees to the subject and parallel with one another.
Here’s a BTS:
Here is a final:
Your initial capture will have a bit of milky softness to it as the light from the back is so strong that is enters the lens and has a milky feel to it. The fix here is in RAW conversion. Simply drag the black slider on the adjustment panel to the right to add contrast and remove the softness on the image.
That’s it for now. I hope to meet new faces at the PDN this year!
